First day of Hand-to-hand fighting World Cup 2021 came to end

Today, November 11, the “Hand-to-hand fighting World Cup 2021” has started. It will be held in Moscow until November 13 at the Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Palace. Competitions on three mats, were held in two disciplines: fighting and self-defense.

Discipline "Fighting"

Among women in the weight category of 65 kg, Daria Vakulinskaia became the winner of the title, defeating her compatriot Kseniia Tarusina in the final. Iulia Sanzharova became the champion of the 70 kg category. Another Russian, Iana Medvedeva, became the winner of the 75 kg category. The title in the 75+ kg category was also won by the Russian Diana Pyatak.

Among men, competitions in the categories 55 - 90+ kg were held today. In the 60 kg category, tomorrow we will have a fight between Sergei Sokolov (Russia) versus Liam MacFadyen (Canada). Two Russian athletes advanced in the 65 kg category - Dzhaddal Alibekov and Nikita Vasilev. In the 70 kg category we will see fights between Azamat Somgurov (Russia) and Abbos Kodirov (Uzbekistan), Iaroslav Abramov (Russia) and Sayat Bektemir (Kazakhstan). The 75 kg category will show us a fight between the Russian Temirkhan Gasanov and the Moldovan Cristian Caraus. In the 80 kg category we will see two Uzbek-Belarusian fights: Mirjalol Yusupov vs Aleh Kliushau and Ogabek Kodirov vs Uladimir Drach. The fight Aleksander Gorokhov (Russia) - Aibek Sametayev (Kazakhstan) will be held in the 85 kg category. In the 90 kg category, the Russian Vladislav Fokin defeated Kai Friedensohn (Germany) today in 1 minute and 31 seconds. In the 90+ kg category tomorrow we will see a fight between Nikolai Kiselev (Russia) versus Aliaksei Dubovik (Belarus).

Discipline "Self-Defenсe"

In the age group 18-37: Alikhan Seitov from Kazakhstan became the champion in the 70 kg weight category. The winner of the 85 kg category was the representative of Kyrgyzstan Nursultan Esenov. Russian Egor Iakovlev won in the 85+ kg category.

In the age category 38-49: In the 75 kg category, all the prizes went to the Russians: 1 - Roman Manukhin, 2 - Roman Kotov, 3 - Mikhail Ermakov. The entire pedestal in the 90 kg weight category was also occupied by athletes from Russia. 1st place - Viacheslav Chernyshov, 2nd place - Stanislav Nikolaev, 3rd place was shared by Andrei Iatckovskii and Mergen Markhaev.

In the age category 50-60: In the 85 kg weight category, the first and second places were taken by athletes from Russia - Dmitrii Pardaev and Vladimir Safonov, accordingly. The Russian Vladimir Shishmarev became the champion in the 85+ kg weight category.

In the age category over 60 years old, Bakhytbek Baimukhanbetov from Kazakhstan became the winner. And in the same age category, but in the 85+ weight category, Andrei Shishkin became the champion.

In the category 1 + 1, the winners were Vladimir and Maxim Safonov.
